We offer training in four modes:
1. ActivInspire Professional Development (Free when you purchase from us):
Empowered Learning's dedicated training team provide educators with the necessary skills to effectively use ICT in the classroom. When you buy any hardware from our Promethean range - our training is FREE. Our motto is "Whatever you buy from us, we will Empower you to use"
2. Half and full day ActivInspire courses, at your school:
Full day $849 and half day $549
The content and arrangement of this day would be negotiated between yourselves and our trainers. For example you may want to work with a particular stage or faculty. You may want to divide your staff into different groups such as beginners, intermediate and advanced. This arrangement is more flexible in terms of the number of people who could be accommodated, as well as the timing of the day.
3. Online Courses:
$299 per person
Empowered Learning's Level 3 Accredited trainers offer an online Level 2 course similar to the Lesson Planning and Curriculum Integration course (see below). this is an ideal way for educators to complete 16 hours of pedagogical training at a pace determined by you. Your tutor will work with you, guiding you through the 8 modules. At the completion of the course, you will receive an official Promethean Level 2 Certificate.
This course is currently available through the PrometheanOz wiki and is designed specifically for Australian educators. Please contact us for information related to cost and availability of this course.
4. Full day ActivInspire courses at our training centre:
(including official Promethean certificates on completion - great for the CV)
Level 1 Core Skills:
This course is designed for users who are new to ActivInspire software. It includes getting started and basic navigation of your flipchart. You will learn how to use tools on the toolbar including text tools, presentation tools and the resource library. Walk away feeling confident about the use of an Interactive Whiteboard in your classroom!
Level 1 Advanced Skills:
This workshop is designed for ActivInspire users who have a good knowledge of the basic tools and are ready to explore some more advanced features of the software. You will learn how to customise ActivInspire toolboxes and profiles, integrate the use of ActivInspire with other applications, insert multimedia files and manage your resource library. You will also learn how to enhance your flipcharts through the use of containers, restrictors and actions.
Lesson Planning & Curriculum Integration (also available online):
This course is designed for ActivInspire users who are comfortable with the software and want to move beyond delivering lessons 'on the fly’. Create a series of lessons or a unit of work that is interactive, that addresses specific outcomes and indicators, and that addresses a variety of learning needs and styles. Bring along your own resources and work together with our trainer to create interactive lessons ready for use in your classroom!
